Eurovision Italiano

E buonasera signore e signori
Fuori gli attori!

It’s been a year since Måneskin thrilled the audience at Eurovision 2021, but we’re all still feel the heat of it!
The slogan is The Sound of Beauty. 40 countries will take part in the 2022 competition in Turin on 10 till 14 May.

Who are Maneskin?

‍Now, you should know that these guys are hot. They killed it with their “Zitti e buoni”, when received a top score – 524. Magazines forecasted their upcoming success long before the competition and happened to be right.
Honestly, though, that’s not rocket science when servin’ such extravaganza, charisma, passion and love. They sabotaged the stage.

Damiano David, the lead singer of the band, had seized the throne, as he now was considered to be a sex-symbol.

He has everything to make his groupies thirsty, both females and males, and everyone in between. Energy, queer vibe, Perry Farrell, Brian Molko, and Freddie Mercury charm. Something we all switch on when dancing in the kitchen, singing in a shower, wearing something unconventional and non-conformable, something cross-gendered, something extra, cheesy, sexy, pink, glittered, blasphemous, funky and Queer.

Nobody knows anything about the young star life, so, possibly, he came from Mars. The only thing we have is that he studied at college and, having met his musicians-mates there, dropped out to make his music career.

The guys approached the band’s name as true icons. Victoria translated a few Danish words, and they chose Måneskin – means “moonlight”.

The Pulse contest pushed them forward, sure it has – as they had to start writing their songs. Then Felt Music Club & School music battle got them their first award.
They performed on the streets of  Colli Portuensi, in the historical centre of Rome, literally as bards of the Middle Ages.

That’s when it got real.
BOOM! They went to France with the first live concert, about 30 people saw the rising star.
BOOM! Mini-tour in Denmark! Debut single, awardees on the X-factor, and at the Sanremo Music Festival, too. Recording three albums…

Those were the juries who gave them 206, whilst the audience gave 318. They would have given more. Yet, it was the highest score possible already. The frontman celebrated the victory, kissing passionately their guitarist Thomas Raggi.

The song “Zitti e buoni” stroke the charts, and ironically “sit and be silent” is his teacher favourite line. He had it with school, so good for him. He stuck it to the man!

Eurovision’s history

The fifties. The European Broadcasting Union has expressed the idea to create a show that would unite the countries of Europe culturally.
Bring everyone together, simply put.
As they were hashing it out In January 1955 in Monaco, the Director-General of Swiss Television Marcel Bezençon pitched the idea of an international song contest – like the Sanremo Festival. This man definitely had a plan to stir up the world with the sounds of music.

Recently, we wrote about the upcoming cyber concert of ABBA’s avatars here. For it was their Eurovision winning that brought them tremendous success.

We can only imagine what comes next in 2022.

Eurovision does not create musical legends.

It professionally and responsibly organizes a place for expression, creativity, and self-building. Eurovision brings people, culture, and ideologies together.
And well, it simply ROCKS!

Watching Whales In Madeira

Watching Whales In Madeira

If you are planning on spending your vacation in Portugal, make sure you visit Madeira. This is an archipelago of four islands and one of only a few places in the world where you can find dolphins and whales in their natural habitat. The period of time between April and October is just the right time for traveling to Madeira – the majority of whales can be found in the area during these months.

Species

There are several species that you can expect to see around Madeira. These are dolphins, rorquals, cachalots, beaked whales, and right whales. Here are some tips for you to distinguish them from each other.

Dolphins

There are several types of dolphins in the waters of Madeira. The most notable among the others are the following.

Bottlenose dolphins are famous for being the most intelligent species, capable of completing simple tasks (they interpret the returning echoes of different objects to learn about their size, shape, and et cetera). Atlantic spotted dolphins are covered in spots (if talking about the adults). There are larger and smaller types, and they’re also varying in size. Infant Atlantic spotted dolphins have no spots at all and look a lot like bottlenose dolphins. Short-beaked common dolphins can speed up to 50-60 km/h and are considered the quickest mammals of all cetaceans.

Rorquals (Whales)

Whales, similar to dolphins, deserve the attention of the Madeira visitors. It might be useful for you to know the difference between some of the most frequently occurring species.

Bryde’s whales don’t have jaws – they operate with baleens and are not capable of echolocating. Humpback whales are known for having the same baleen plates as Bryde’s whales. They will definitely be heard by everyone around them when they perform their famous songs or jump above the water.

Cachalots

Cachalots also belong to the whale family, and they are the largest of toothed whales. There are three species that live in the waters of Madeira.

Sperm whales are the biggest of all the toothed whales, famous for holding their breath for an hour and diving in depth of the ocean. Dwarf sperm whales appear very rarely and expel a special dark liquid when being scared off by enemies. Pygmy sperm whales share the same survival instinct with dwarf sperm whales, and can also be  characterized by a passive way of life.

Beaked and right whales

Beaked whales form one of the least known groups of mammals because they live deep below the sea level: only ⅛ of their total number is known at the moment.

One of the beaked whales species is called cuvier’s beaked whales, the deepest mammal discovered today, that dives at a speed of 100m per minute. The deepest distance reached by cuvier’s beaked whales ever was almost 3000 meters.

The North Atlantic Right Whales are quite rare: fewer than 400 species are registered at the moment. They are notable for slowly floating in the water.

Recommendations to consider before booking your tour

Before going to Madeira, make a plan – there are many more available activities than just watching whales (which is impressive, but not everything). These are some ideas for you:

Visit the Whale Museum in Canical

To learn more about the whales, their history, along with all those discovered species, go to the Whale Museum on the North of the East coast, Museu de Baleia da Madeira. Large models of whales that can be studied by the visitors give a great opportunity to have a closer look at the whales.

Watch whales from the shore, or go to an open sea

People suffering from seasickness should not give up on seeing the whales – there are a lot of viewpoints on the shore. Binoculars can be very helpful in this case. Ponta do Garajau is a perfect place to watch whales. If you want to look closely, you can rent a boat and watch whales closely. Specially trained guides will make your boat trip safe and pleasant.

Swim with the dolphins

You are allowed to establish closer contact with dolphins if there are more than 3 species around. Opportunities like this don’t come along very often, so don’t pass them. Dolphins love people and communicate actively, never causing any harm. There is nothing to be afraid of as long as you do not scare or offend them.

To make the most of your voyage and not get into any sort of trouble, please follow these recommendations:

Get ready to swim

Prepare your swimming suit in advance.

Bring warm clothes and sunglasses

Both will be helpful in any sudden change of weather.

Be prepared for seasickness

If you suffer from it, take pills in advance, do not eat too much before the trip and get a seat at the back – it’s a properly ventilated place on the ship.

Ready for an unforgettable experience in Madeira? Don’t miss the right time to watch whales.

Oktoberfest Comes Back After Hiatus

Oktoberfest Comes Back After Hiatus

Oktoberfest, the world’s most iconic annual beer festival, is finally back in 2022 following two years of cancellations.

According to the official website of the event, Dieter Reiter, the mayor of Munich, gave the green light to the 187th Oktoberfest. It will take place from September 17 to October 3, restriction-free.

With all due consideration, the decision was not one easy to make. The mayor mentioned that the event might still be canceled if the government decides to reinforce the pandemic measures.

This will be the first official Oktoberfest in two years, since the celebrations last year and the year before were canceled because of COVID restrictions. The event will start with the traditional “first tapping” of the beer ritual, followed by a parade featuring horse-drawn carriages, politicians, brewers, and the merry crowds.

Istanbul’s Yachting Industry

Istanbul’s Yachting Industry

Istanbul is a rare open-air museum. It’s hard to believe, but here yacht tourism only started to take off in 1983.

For many years, only boats were used for excursions, and no one considered luxury yachts. «Bosphorus Tour Istanbul» was the first to bring luxury yachts to the Bosporus. Şenol Eroğlu is the company’s operator and the man in charge of all tours. He described what it’s like to go on a yacht cruise to GetExperience.

How did the yacht business develop in Istanbul?

In my opinion, Turkey has some of the nicest bays in the world, and the Bosphorus is unquestionably an ideal yachting destination. In the 1980s, the government began to support efforts aimed at promoting the tourism business, particularly the yachting industry.

We got involved as this wave of change began to pick up entrepreneurs. We realized there was a lack of group trips on a luxury yacht fifteen years ago. As a result, we began offering luxury tours that include a breathtaking view of Istanbul illuminated by the evening sun. We cruise around the shore, taking in the sights of Ortakoy, Bebek, Rumeli Fortress, Maiden Tower, and the Bosphorus bridges.

Evening tours are our specialty, but we also provide tours in the morning and afternoon. Throughout the trip, a Spanish and English-speaking guide converses with visitors. Snacks, fresh orange juice, Turkish baklava, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, are available.

What occurs during your tours?

There’s a humorous and even mystical story. A lady once requested Turkish coffee for prediction. One of the team members became involved in her process. He analyzed the patterns in her cup and made some life forecasts for her. She called us two months later to tell us that everything had come true. Her sister then came to us for a divination on the yacht as well.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a miracle. The beauty of twilight and water inspires many people to express their amorous thoughts. On our yacht, marriage proposals are frequently made on the spur of the moment. We become emotionally involved in the sacramental situation at such moments, celebrating the couple as a unit and fulfilling any customer demands.

To succeed in this job, you must be conversant with contemporary technologies, have outstanding communication skills, and, of course, have a strong enthusiasm for the water.
