Why the Metaverse is Going to Transform the Travel Industry

Why the Metaverse is Going to Transform the Travel Industry

Metaverse is happening to be our new reality and even not all have their headsets by now – we can see how the metaverse expands step by step and different industries transform under its influence.

So is the travel industry. It has been transformed more than once over time, and new vehicles have always been catalysts for change. Horses, boats, trains, automobiles, airplanes, etc.

VR headsets are not literally a vehicle, however, they create new possibilities, allowing humanity to travel beyond the physical world.

Surely, it’s not about the replacement, at least for now, but metaverse traveling has some serious advantages over traditional travel:

1. Time

For instance, you’re planning to travel to Brazil. To make it happen in real life you need to plan your trip in advance. Book your flights, choose the hotel, spend time on transfer and flight, which can take even more than 24h, if you’re flying with a stopover. In the world, where time is the most valuable resource, you have to spend it not only on the experience itself, but on the opportunity to gain it also. Metaverses allow you to save time. You can start your travel in a moment and, which is especially attractive for office workers, you have no need to wait for vacation to get new travel experiences! Put on a VR headset after a long working day and you’re traveling to Rio de Janeiro  in minutes. What a reward this could be for a workaholic!

2. Cost

Traveling offline involves a lot of expenses. You pay for everything – from flights and hotels to food and souvenirs. And you’re not immune to additional costs that may be out of your budget. For example, while traveling, you can catch a cold and you’ll need to buy something at the pharmacy. Or the weather can change and you’ll need a different kind of clothes. In the metaverse, unexpected costs like this are excluded.

3. Social

Imagine, you and your friends live in different countries, maybe even different parts of the world. To go on a trip together with them is a sort of blessing – you can have different holiday schedules, love different climates, or some of your friends may just not be able to physically travel. It’s easier to reach a compromise in the metaverses! You can be anywhere and still travel together! By the way, if you do not have a companion, you can choose any avatar in the metaverse to travel with! Maybe then you will choose Margo Robbie for a trip to Rio de Janeiro?

4. Unknown experience

Traveling is always about searching for new experiences. People dive into the depths of the oceans, fly in a balloon above the earth, and try extreme sports to get adrenaline and dopamine release. However, would you like to experience something that is not available to you in the physical world? Let’s look at the example: you just came from your wild journey in the Amazon jungle and you’re sharing your experience with your friends but they can’t fully be in your story since they can’t imagine it. So, you decide to take them on a virtual trip around the Amazon jungle so they can understand it better. The experiences in metaverses work like this: you need a VR headset and stable internet connection to dive into something you can’t get in real life right here and right now. The Amazon jungle seems kinda real even in virtual space because it is a real place on the planet Earth. However, the metaverse can take you to the places you can’t go so far. A space trip to Jupiter and or a historic trip to the age of Medieval Empires – why not? The metaverse makes everything possible. Moreover, it is not rocket science to find an experience to explore now, the world’s top companies have already started offering their digital travel services.

5. Personalization and uniqueness

In order to offer the most personalized tour, metaverses use a variety of physiological metrics. Pupil movement, heart rate, perspiration… Thanks to this, you will get something that you can be completely satisfied with. And if your dream travel is a trip to Tatooine planet, be sure – in Metaverse it’s not something impossible. Perhaps it’s going to be even greater than an excursion inside the Egyptian pyramids!

These are some arguments for Meta travels. Nevertheless it will take more than a few years for VR headsets to be in each house. Which is already clear is that metaverses will bring new experiences for mankind. To trust these changes or to resist is a choice of everyone. But the future has already begun.

Koko Revolutionizing the Music Scene

Koko Revolutionizing the Music Scene

Koko, an iconic 122-year-old music venue in London, had a grand reopening late last month, after three years of closure and seven years of meticulous redesigning and reimagining. It is sure to place a new benchmark in live music events and establish a connection between an artist and the audience.

The new venue features the main stage, where most events take place, fly tower performance space, penthouse recording studios, bar, cafe, members club & restaurants, cocktail bar, and smaller apartments for more intimate shows. Future plans include a radio and podcast station and multiple live streaming points.

The venue jumps headfirst into both live performances and connection with fans, as well as implementing remote access, topical in our post-pandemic, reality-blurring times. Virtual interactions, live streaming (notably Apple’s Music Live free concert streaming service, which debuted with Harry Styles this month), crypto curiosity, and other on-demand content.
