Inhale The Future, Exhale The Past: Bhakti Festival Welcomes Everyone To Meditate Together

Inhale The Future, Exhale The Past: Bhakti Festival Welcomes Everyone To Meditate Together

Football, basketball, hockey… The list of team activities is a never-ending one. Yoga is a self-discipline: even when practicing in a group, you still need to focus on yourself. The Bhakti Festival is an opportunity to share a space with like-minded people who can join you. At the same time, you won’t disturb each other.

This year, the Bhakti Festival will be held at the end of June in Villa Vrindavana, Italy. Now, you should know the whole event is not only about meditation. There is much more to think of and learn about if you decide to attend the event.

The Bhakti Festival has its origins in 2012. One of its founders is ISKCON Villa Vrindavana, a Vaishnava center. It hosts seminars and courses which are dedicated to spiritual reconnection between humans and nature. Another founder of the Bhakti Festival is Yogendra, the leading Samadhi yoga school in Florence.

The purpose of the festival is to attract more tourists to Villa Vrindavana, so they learn about yoga, try it out, and join the community. Some of the following yoga principles will be studied at the Bhakti Festival.

Yoga is about diversity

Don’t imagine the Bhakti Festival is simply a space for the meditaions. All those wishing to learn about different styles of yoga or related practices may do so.

On Aerial Yoga, the experts will lift you up in the air, using special bandages. Floating in the air, you may feel an acrobat.

Hatha Yoga will give you an understanding of yoga as given in the sacred book of the Gita.

Anukalana Vinyasa is a healing yoga practice… and these are just a few suggestions to help you decide what you want to do. Train your body, relax and release your fears, learn about the spiritual part of yoga. There is a suitable course for everyone.

Yoga is about healing your soul and training your body

People who are practicing yoga usually live longer and stay fit even with age. It happens because they train their bodies to age slowly and with grace. There are many types of yoga that challenge human bodies to surpass their abilities.

For instance, on DanzAria you will test your stamina by hanging on the steel rings.

Prema Viniasa is another masterclass aimed at personal growth. The purpose is to leave your comfort zone and work on all the issues that bother you.

Yoga is about unity with others and yourself

Regardless of whether you want to exercise in a group or concentrate on yoga alone, the Bhakti festival has activities for both groups.

For instance, Hatha Yoga will allow a group of people to use each other’s company to come to peace together. This exercise allows you to find a way to yourself. Some other practices are to sustain one’s inner peace, or unite some people.

Yin-Yang Alkimiyoga is a group exercise, allowing people to practice Yin and Yang exercises together. If you feel that you need something slightly more individual, pick a meditation course.

Yoga is about spiritual matters

According to the practices of Hinduism, chakras, or the main energy points in your body, are very important for every human being. There are seven main chakras, believed to be a sustaining part of your body and mind. Some sources say it’s five chakras.

At the Bhakti festival, you can learn more about chakras. One of the key events, dedicated to spiritualism, is the introduction to essential oils, according to five layers of your being. You can choose a basic or an intermediate course to complete, learn about the esoteric meaning of yoga, and the practical ways in which your chakras can be helpful for your personal development.

Yoga is about dance

Dance is believed to be one of the most creative ways to express yourself—and the Bhakti Festival is preaching this motto. Visitors to the festival can learn different styles of dance. Emotional Bollywood dances are one of them.

The connection between yoga and dance is undeniable. Both preach freedom, movement, and express a dancer’s attitude. One of the workshops is called Aware Dynamics between Yoga and Dance. For almost two hours, all the guests could take part in an experimental class. It includes improvisation, practical lessons, which help to find harmony. This workshop does not require participants to demonstrate any special skills in dance; the only thing that matters is their desire to participate, learn, and create.

Further details

The Bhakti Festival welcomes everybody to this festival of freedom and peace for free. The event takes place between the 24th and 26th of June on the hills of Tuscany. The program is still updated.

The Great British Food Festival

The Great British Food Festival

What is British cuisine like? Surely something beyond fish and chips – find out the details at the Great British Food Festival.

The Great British Food Festival team organizes multiple events throughout the year, but its most iconic festival is coming up soon – at Harewood House, Leeds, from 2 June to 5 June, 2022. Every year, it attracts crowds of gourmand visitors as well as local producers, showcasing the best of British cuisine, street food, and produce through specialty and seasonal food and drink. This foodie paradise is a great opportunity to get a true taste of the United Kingdom in a merry festive atmosphere. As usual, there will be a wide array of produce and tastes from local and national producers – an amazing mix of cultures and cuisines offering exotic elements as well as the best of local products, like burgers, sausages, and traditional desserts.

It is recommended to buy tickets online in advance. Depending on availability, it may be possible to buy a ticket at the door.

About the team

The Great British Food Festival started off as a small family-run event in 2010. Ten years of work and some hundred food events later, the team comprises few more members, while remaining a close-knit group of inspired organizers and administrators with a passion for each of their events.

A gastronomic gala…

Food is the protagonist of the festival, cuisine is its pole star. Visitors roam a spacious event site with stalls offering delicious hot food, cakes, hot drinks, draft beer, and barbecue. The lineup includes over a hundred local and national producers, street food, chef demos, and food-related activities and competitions, like Men v Food.

Any product limitations are taken care of – the Great British Food Festival makes sure to invite a mixed and varying array of traders with a stock range including vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, and gluten-free options. Each trader can give advice on their assortment, so feel free to ask for the best treats with your diet taken into consideration.

Daily events include chef demos, during which professional chefs will walk you through one or two of their favorite recipes. Local as well as nationally renowned chefs will demonstrate different dishes and techniques, tips and shortcuts. The demos run all day, with the presenting chefs changing depending on the day, starting anew each hour, and they are free to attend. This year’s fabulous lineup includes Sandy Docherty, Eva Humphries, Fabio, and Sophie Hyam.

Also, there is Cake Off, a competition between bakers, featuring over 600 magnificent cakes. A half of the votes will be obtained from a judge panel, while the other half will be scored by randomly selected members of the audience – a tasting for everyone ensues after the winner is decided upon.

…and so much more

The iconic Great British Food Festival takes place at the lovely Harewood House, an 18th century country house of the Lascelles family. While Harewood House is still the family seat of Earl of Harewood, the house and territory are open to the public for most of the year. It is a fine English house with magnificent interiors and a close connection to the royal family.

Harewood House also features the Bird Garden, where visitors can see penguins, flamingos, and other birds, and the Farm Yard with animals to observe and pet at mini-zoos.

The soundtrack to your visit to the festival will be performed live by local musicians.

The Great British Food Festival cherishes family values, so the event is extremely children-friendly. There are plenty of things to do for the little ones, like circus skills and cookery workshops, treasure hunts, wacky races, and bouncy castles. The spacious estate grounds are free to run around in and burn off some energy.

Dogs are welcome at the territory as well – but with some limitations. Due to sanitary reasons, they are not allowed into the pavilions, should always be kept on lead, and the owners have to clean up after their dogs.

The Great British Food Festival is not only about fun – philanthropy is an important value of the event. The festival donates a percentage of the income to charities – a different one at each of the events.
