One of the most historical buildings in Ireland, the Carton House, has existed since the 18th century and was always in demand by the public. In the past, it belonged to the FitzGerald family for many decades, but at the moment, the Irish-American Mullen family owns the building. In 2021, the Carton House was renovated and received 5 star-status from Failte Ireland, or the National Tourism Development Authority of the Republic of Ireland.
At the moment, the Carton House combines the beauty of the past with the modern technologies of the 21st century. Such grand rooms as the Gold Salon and the Bell Room were restored, but their original beauty and style were preserved in their original form. New elements, added to Carton House, meet the concept of the building and serve to entertain visitors. Their list includes the Whiskey Library and the Courtyard Bar, with an impressive collection of wines and cocktails. Refurbishment of the Carton House was completed by McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects, who preserved the main details of the original design and added some new features to the Carton House.
