Queen Elizabeth Will Receive A Special Gift Of 69-Feet In Height

Published on July 20, 2022

Her Majesty is celebrating a jubilee this year: it’s been 70 years since she became a Queen. To congratulate the Queen on the anniversary of her administration, Heatherwick Studio has launched a project whose final goal is to give a new sight to Buckingham Palace and acknowledge Queen Elizabeth II. Heatherwick, famous for working on such international projects as the Olympic Cauldron in 2012, has already presented a similar tree project before. It was 1000 Trees: a shopping mall with trees growing atop the walls. This year, Heatherwick is working on another kind of construction, consisting of 350 trees. They are all attached to the large frame and form one tree together. Trees will not be damaged by being a part of the construction: each of them will be put in special aluminum pots, which design will be another tribute to Her Majesty. The Tree of Trees will be kept after the Jubilee and demolished in October in the end of the festive season. Afterwards, all the trees will either return to their natural environment or be planted in communities.
