People VS Seagulls: Venice Hotels Provide Tourists With Waterguns

Published on July 18, 2022

So many people are sharing nostalgic memories about how they were chasing each other with waterguns in childhood – are you one of them? If yes, there is a chance for you to remember past; if no, why not to use the almost missed opportunity? Venice hotels have launched a new promotion allowing people to have fun – and, at the same time, to help local government.

These sweet birds are disliked by the government due to their behavior. Seagulls enjoy stealing food, act aggressive and leave dirt everywhere they go. To solve these problems, two famous properties in Venice, Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal and Gritti Palace, have coloured their walls in a orange whichis a frightening color to seagulls. To strengthen measures protecting the city from seagulls and keep it attractive for tourists, hotel administrations have also started giving all those who wish waterguns to scare off the birds. This activity is unharmful for birds, fun for tourists and beneficial for the government – it’s a win-win.
