Istanbul is a rare open-air museum. It’s hard to believe, but here yacht tourism only started to take off in 1983.
For many years, only boats were used for excursions, and no one considered luxury yachts. «Bosphorus Tour Istanbul» was the first to bring luxury yachts to the Bosporus. Şenol Eroğlu is the company’s operator and the man in charge of all tours. He described what it’s like to go on a yacht cruise to GetExperience.

How did the yacht business develop in Istanbul?
In my opinion, Turkey has some of the nicest bays in the world, and the Bosphorus is unquestionably an ideal yachting destination. In the 1980s, the government began to support efforts aimed at promoting the tourism business, particularly the yachting industry.
We got involved as this wave of change began to pick up entrepreneurs. We realized there was a lack of group trips on a luxury yacht fifteen years ago. As a result, we began offering luxury tours that include a breathtaking view of Istanbul illuminated by the evening sun. We cruise around the shore, taking in the sights of Ortakoy, Bebek, Rumeli Fortress, Maiden Tower, and the Bosphorus bridges.
Evening tours are our specialty, but we also provide tours in the morning and afternoon. Throughout the trip, a Spanish and English-speaking guide converses with visitors. Snacks, fresh orange juice, Turkish baklava, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, are available.
What occurs during your tours?
There’s a humorous and even mystical story. A lady once requested Turkish coffee for prediction. One of the team members became involved in her process. He analyzed the patterns in her cup and made some life forecasts for her. She called us two months later to tell us that everything had come true. Her sister then came to us for a divination on the yacht as well.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a miracle. The beauty of twilight and water inspires many people to express their amorous thoughts. On our yacht, marriage proposals are frequently made on the spur of the moment. We become emotionally involved in the sacramental situation at such moments, celebrating the couple as a unit and fulfilling any customer demands.
To succeed in this job, you must be conversant with contemporary technologies, have outstanding communication skills, and, of course, have a strong enthusiasm for the water.
